Who are we pleasing?

This thought just hit me so I´m gonna write something about it. I think with our lives, our words, our actions and our choices we can mostly live by pleasing ourselves, pleasing people around us or pleasing God. I also think that only with that one of the choices we can really end up living really pleasant life.

If we live for pleasing ourselves we might have a pretty good life for ourselves. But whats the prize of that? To get ourselves pleased we end up hurting lots of people around us cause other people will end up paying the prize of our selfish lifestyle. Thats just a fact. We also end up breaking the commandment of our Lord Jesus which is to love our God and our neighbor as ourselves. We end up living in our little caves and shutting everybody and everyone including God out. We loose the sense of reality in the end.

If we live by pleasing the people around us. Well.. We might make some people happy but at the same time when we make one happy we make the other unhappy because it´s impossible to please everybody at the same time. In order to try to do that we end up compromising ourselves and what´s the worst we end up compromising the will of God. We end up denying the truth, faking and wearing the mask. The result is that we may make some happy but we end up being unhappy and God is not pleased either.

If we live for pleasing God. Well that´s the whole different story! Yes some people will not like us because we speak the truth of the word of God and live according to it. Even though we don´t judge people and are welcoming them into same sort of life, everybody doesn´t always wanna accept it. But guess what! When we stick with His truth even though not all is going to like us, there will be great peace in our lives, just by knowing that we are doing the right thing and our Heavenly Father is pleased! Now if some people are not happy with us then it may be because of their willingness to still please themselves or people around them. We can still see that willing to please God can give us much more pleasant life than any other way. Only that way we can have a real peace! Why don´t we give a go?

Beautiful

Little while ago I heard something interesting about the well known story in the bible. I kind of believed it but took me while to have a look and check it out if it´s true and hey it is true! You know how in the acts chapter 3 Peter and John healed this lame man who was sitting at the gate called beautiful? (Well we know its Jesus who healed but in this case he worked through Peter and John so it´s fair enough).
The mind blowing thing is that word beautiful in Greek means something that is timely, belonging to the right hour or season, flourishing, that which is seasonable, produced at the right time. Quite amazing. This gives the whole new understanding to what was going on there. It wasn´t just healing miracle as usual, but it was something that was timely and happening at the right season! It was time for the explosion of the gospel to happen through the first church! So God had put this lame man to beg at the gate and Peter and John to pass by him at the divine moment of the history that will cause people to see that hey this Jesus is really Risen King! He is the Christ! He is the Messiah! It also caused some religious leaders to get angry which caused the church to seek even more for the demonstration of God´s power and they found it! As they prayed in the acts.4 the whole place where they were gathered shook under the power of God! Apostles started to witness about ressurection with even greater power and church came into deeper unity as we can read!
There is still those moments that can be beautiful in our lives. Those divine moments when God wants to come and change your destiny forever. Not only for a sake of your destiny but it will have something to do with God´s plan for a mankind. Yes you may have very important role in that all. So it´s very important to live everyday full of the Holy Spirit so when that beautiful moment comes you will be ready to grasp it. The same word beautiful is also in Romans.10:15 where it quotes old testament scripture saying how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things. That means that when you go with the gospel you are always doing something that is on right season, which is timely and so on. So you will find yourself in the middle of God´s plan by doing that and you will bring help to others in the right season!
