We need to preach the gospel

I wanna stir us up today to think about the certain issue afresh. That is about preaching the gospel of Jesus the Christ. You can also call it the gospel of the Kingdom.

Something that I have found out is that these days it doesn`t seem to be too popular among christians to preach the gospel. Sometimes it seems like in different fellowships all sorts of other things and activities have taken the place of the main purpose of the church of Jesus Christ which is making diciples of all nations and that certainly starts with preaching the gospel. I can see all sorts of circus activities taking place. I can hear all sorts of different messages being declared. I can go and visit congregations and I can get really good entertainment. Very professional. I can take part of the outreach that can cost easily 20 000 dollars/euros or even more to do and endless voluntary working hours but what do I end up seeing? Many times just wonderful entertainment and in the end somebody might say that its good to believe in Jesus or something like that. That is not preaching the gospel!

Should we stop preaching the gospel because it doesn`t make us popular? Certainly not. Should we stop preaching the gospel for the sake of getting more people to attend our activities? Certainly not. Jesus never told us to try to build big buildings and congregations. He told us to preach the gospel and to make diciples of all the nations. While we are doing our part He is doing His part by building His church!

Mark.16:
¹⁵ And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. ¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Luke.24:⁴⁶ Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise^[h] from the dead the third day, ⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

This is the simple commandment. I encourage us all to take it very seriously and to study from the word of God what is the message that we are to preach? I also wanna challenge the message that many have learned and even preached for years including me and I also had to repent. We been hearing and preaching that we need to receive Jesus that we can have our sins forgiven so that when we die we can go to heaven. sounds really good and there is parts of truth there. Interesting thing is though that you never find such a message from the bible. Jesus didn`t preach it neither did the first apostles. So why do we? Why do we rather preach some man made message instead of preaching the message that God gave to us in His word? 

So what Did Jesus and the apostles preach?

Matt.4: 

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Acts.17:
³⁰ Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, ³¹ because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

There`s plenty of other scriptures that would show us the same thing and even expand it quite abit but that gives us an idea. We are to preach repentance for the kingdom of God is now here and is gonna take over all the other kingdoms. We need to be in the right kingdom! We are to preach repentance for God is going to judge all unrighteousness. God don`t want no one to be condemned so he is giving us time to repent. But it needs to be preached. 

It is about the life in the kingdom of God. Not about dying and going to heaven. Dying and going to heaven never was a part of the message of Jesus and first apostles but the life in the kingdom of God! Jesus is ruling and reigning in this kingdom and this kingdom is going to be fully established here on earth as it is in heaven. While that is taking place we do the work of the ministry so that Christ the King can return to His body.

Now I just shortly mention that beginning at 2014 will be time that I will start moving all around Europe teaching and preaching the apostolic message. In earth as it is in heaven

Something fresh that came this morning about the pattern that we are building according as church of Jesus the Messiah.

²⁵ See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

This refers to the pattern of the new covenant church. (See also Hebrews 8) It has been given to us by one who spoke from heaven. He is God who became flesh and same God also spoke through the first holy apostles. They revealed to us the pattern.

The very idea of it is that it would be in earth as it is in heaven. That`s what Lord Jesus even taught us to pray. So this time I just want to show something about how things are in heaven and how it`s happening here in earth.

¹¹ And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
¹² Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

What we can see happening in the heaven is this: First of all there is the throne of God, secondly there is 24 elders according revelation chapter 5. Thirdly there are angels and earlier in revelation 7 we see that there is a multitude of saints.

How dos this apply on church here on earth? Well Jesus promised to be in the midst of us as we are gathered in His name. That is His throne and kingship in the midst of his peole. When we gather in his name we worship the one who sits on the throne. What about the elders? Biblically ordered church of Jesus has it`s elders functioning. They are the ones who oversee the local churches. I recall that also apostles and prophets can fit in here. Then the angels. Who are they? Word angel simply means messenger so they are the ones who go out and spread the message of Jesus. That doesn`t mean that there is no angels as spiritual beings. Of course there is. This only reveals us how the pattern works in earth. Also in every local church there is numbers of saints who are being dicipled. This whole group together is bringing worship to our God. 

It`s wonderful how in different places in the bible God reveals the pattern to us in the most beautiful way. In earth as it is in heaven. That clearly is the will of God. He also said something interesting in John.3:13. Here is Jesus showing us what born again person is like. We as spiritually born people are very much capable to bring heavenly worship down to earth. It is the desire of our God and it is being fulfilled as I write this.

The foundations of the earth

Isaiah 51:12-13 12“I, even I, am He who comforts you.Who are you that you should be afraid

Of a man who will die,And of the son of a man who will be made like grass?13And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth;You have feared continually every day Because of the fury of the oppressor,When he has prepared to destroy.

And where is the fury of the oppressor?

Here God is giving comfort to His people to not be afraid of people who try to oppress them and showing the reality how great He as a creator is compared to ones who are created. There`s also strong reminder of the reality that they tend to forget who their God is. Then it mentions that He stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. So earth has it`s foundations.

Psalm. 102:25 Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

Psalm.104:5 You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever

Prov.8:29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, 30Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him,

Job.38:4“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?Tell Me, if you have understanding.

These scriptures show us that foundations of the earth had been laid of old(long ago), God has laid the foundations of the earth so that it should not be moved forever, foundations of the earth are marked with wisdom and finally there scripture where God challenges Job where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

Now the interesting question is: What are/is the foundations of the earh? Let us seek answers from the scriptures.

2.Peter.3:5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,

Hebrews.11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Here we se that both heavens and the earth have been there from old by the word of God. We also see that this earth that we see now has been framed by the word of God by His creative power bringing forth things that we now see from his eternal realm which we call heaven.Which is different heaven that we see with our eyes.

Now because we see that earth has been created by the word of God we can rightly say that the Word of God is the very foundation of the earth. But let us go deeper and let the Word of God reveal us the mystery.

Col.1:15-17 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Hebrews.1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

John.1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made

Revelation.19:11-13 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

These scriptures clearly show us that actually everything that is created is created through and by God who became man and who gave us His name Jesus. He holds everthing together by the word of his power. How awesome is Jesus! Jesus is the Word through whom everything got created. Revelation 19 even confirms it to us revealing that one of the names of Jesus is the Word of God.

As awesome as it is by these scriptures I dare to say that Jesus is the foundation of the earth! This is now revealing us something of the deep mystery of God. God`s will is that the mystery gets revealed to His holy people!

This creation as we see now is created only for a certain period of time. During that time the mystery of God gets fully revealed and then the end of the age will come and God`s people will step into new era. In the creation itself God has painted us the picture of His Glory and His purpose that even by creation we would grasp the understanding or glimpse of the age that he has prepared for us who believe.

1.Cor.3:10-11 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

This speaks about the foundation of our faith showing us that Jesus is the only foundation that can be laid. How do we lay this foundation? By speaking the word of God. Same way as the foundation of the earth is laid. Now when the foundation first gets laid in our lives we start to grow into the mystery of God and getting ready for the end of the age as we remain in his word beause God is building things to come from the inside of His people!

Word of God speaks to us about the last trumpet. Let us have a little look to it in the final part of the message.

Revelation.10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

Revelation.11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

So when the seventh angel blows the trumpet the mystery of God which is now opening for us piece by piece will be finished. One thing that will happen on that moment will be that the kingdom of God will take fully over the kingdoms of this world and God will reign then forever and ever. But what else is going to happen at that same moment?

1.Cor.15:51-58 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”55“O Death, where is your sting?O Hades, where is your victory?”56The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

At that moment of the sounding of the last trumped the mystery of God will be fulfilled also in us who believe and because of that we will be changed. We walk into the fullness of resurrection! We put on immortality! Labour in the Lord is not in vain cause when we grow in the understanding of the mystery the process inside of us moves on until we get so filled with the revelation of the mystery that this body cannot contain it anymore but it has to be changed according to the Word that is inside of us! We have tapped into an awesome power through Jesus Christ!

Psalm.102:25-28 Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. 26They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a garment;

Like a cloak You will change them, And they will be changed. 27But You are the same,

And Your years will have no end. 28The children of Your servants will continue,

And their descendants will be established before You.”

At that same moment when the Jesus takes over the kingdoms and we are changed also the earth will be changed. Everything shall be new!

Revelation.21:1-7 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”5Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”6And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

Promise to enter into the new remains for those who overcomes. See the picture that God paints with the foundation of the earth. Earth has its foundations so by being in that right foundation this earth shall remain till the time when it is it`s time to change. That foundation is the Word who also became flesh, who is Jesus! Now Jesus is also our foundation and as we keep building on that right foundation and growing in the mystery we will be overcomers and standing the test of time and in the end we will fully inherit everything he has promised to us and we will be His bride!
